Our Founding Story

As someone who has a background in IT, messy desks and setups have always been distracting and negatively noticed by me. Furthermore, gap-free linked screens increase productivity and well-being at work. After all, ergonomic aspects and display accessibility can be significantly improved in this way."

Idea

How it all started..

As someone from the IT industry, I always visit tech roadshows. The latest products and models are on display there.

The demonstration of monitors in a dual setup perfectly showcased the flexibility, height adjustability and ergonomics of the monitors.

However, one small thing made the whole thing seem out of sync, and that was the distracting gap between the monitors.

The first thought that came to my mind was, "Why are there no magnets attached?

Research

The gap is not a pseudo-problem!

The height differences or gaps between screens may seem insignificant at first glance. But upon closer examination, the opposite turns out to be true.

A dual monitor setup has become the standard in many companies. The first thing you do in the morning: adjusting monitors to work as effectively as possible.

All it takes is a little bump against the table or the cleaning lady has accidentally moved in.

Patent

Worldwide Patent

The problem definitely exists, however, I failed to find a solution at all.

That is why I seized the opportunity and immediately registered at the patent office.

It took a while, but now the screenbuddy® is patented worldwide.

Innovation

screenbuddy®

After the first attempts with moulding and magnetic hinges, I finally developed a functional prototype.

This prototype, back then known as screensnap, was able to prove itself in front of the jury of the German Design Award in 2020 and won the award.

Founding

My first Startup

I've always had a lot of ideas. When I was 15, I wanted to open a frozen yoghurt shop, which would have been super successful, looking back. Unfortunately, when you're a teenager, nobody takes you seriously.

Nowadays, I have other sources of funding, capital, expertise and I'm old enough to finally run my own business.

In May 2020, the time had finally come and I founded ConnectedView GmbH.
